Daniello's Last Act: More Medical Cuts?

 
Rumors suggest that Daniello--with less than two months left in office--has voted to cut our medical benefit yet again.  Sources say that Daniello and the other trustees agreed to cut our HIP medical plan and our prescription benefit at the Fund Trustees meeting last Thursday, November 12th.
 
As to what was cut and how far, we don't know.  Can we expect higher copays and deductibles?  Once again, we don't know, but it wouldn't surprise us at all.
 
What we do know is this: Daniello has been lying to members about the Welfare Fund.  We've been saying that the Fund is in trouble for years now, and time after time he has denied it.  Now we are facing a possible third round of cuts.
 
Whatever happens with these Funds going forward, members can expect straight answers from New Directions.  We are all adults here--if there's something wrong, we deserve to know the truth.

This just go's to show us that he would cut off his nose to spite his face!!! He still has family members that work in the industry. The fact is he would like to make it as hard as possible for the new e-board to do their job. Why didn't he try to bargain for more contributions from the bosses??? Or maybe he did this for his last walk off envelope...Remember his nickname always was Georgie Envelopes!!! smilies/angry.gif smilies/angry.gif

IM not surprised georgie boy would cut our benefits walking out the door class was never his strong suit.I hope that the rank n file sees that this poor excuse for a leader was never one of us or identified with our struggles. THe man was always out of touch with the rank n file and definately was a friend to management.As his final act like a rabbit in a hat he tries to make your medical benefits disappear.At the september meeting he said the medical fund was building reserves and i knew he was lying.How did i know he was lying,his mouth was moving.RIGHT now we are looking into what we can do to fix the problem.HE KNEW the fund was tanking and because of the election he did nothing.I am so glad to see this guy go he was a disgrace to teamsters everywhere.I will say this as far as old guard corrupt officials go he earned his spot in the hall of shame.Oh yes lets not leave out mr James Omara kudo,s to you to jimmy for being a bobble head and going along with gutting our medical benefits.It must be nice working with guys who cant see through you but believe me the rank n file see right through the nice guy persona.You and george being called trustees make a mockery of the word its almost funny.Dont worry jimmy they got room for you in the old guard teamster hall of shame.Anything else would be uncivilized.So in parting lets say goodbye and good riddance to the last 25 years of untrustworthy and neglectful leaders and hello to change.At last the stench of corruption and sellouts have been replaced with the fresh air of inclusion and democracy and how sweet it is peace.
